The Parish Council is responsible for lighting & parking places in the village. We have the right to enter into discussions regarding new roads and road widening. The consent of the Parish Council is required for diversion or discontinuation of highway, traffic signs and other notices, tree planting and verge maintenance.
The Recreation Ground is owned by the parish council who look after the trees and hedges and arrange insurance and maintenance of the sports and play equipment.
The pavilion, the play equipment and the goalposts were provided by fundraising through the village fete, as well as grants from Viridor Environmental credits and Wiltshire Council.
The Parish Council has rights to spend a limited amount of money on anything deemed of benefit to the community that is not covered within the other specific Parish Council responsibilities.
The Parish Council is responsible for footpath and bridleway maintenance, where they are the landowner.
The Parish Council is responsible for the upkeep of any public seating in the village.

The Wiltshire/Hampshire County boundary cuts through the village so the Parish Council is in frequent contact with both Wiltshire County Council and Test Valley Borough Council.
The Parish Council also seeks to work closely with West Tytherley Parish Council.
