The main role of a Parish Councillor is to represent the views of all residents within the Parish and to listen to, and understand, the views and needs of different groups in the community (such as young and older people). Councillors cannot assume that they represent the interests of electors without consulting them.
The Parish Council meet monthly (except for August & December) at King George's Hall.
The Agenda is published in advance on this website, the Parish Council Facebook page and on the noticeboard near to Red Lion House on the Village Green. Minutes are agreed at the following meeting and published on this website.
The Parish Council has many rules and regulations by which it must comply. The parish council policies can be found using the link below.
Each Councillor is has specific responsibilities whilst serving on the council. Responsibilities are specified above.
The Parish Council discusses all planning applications at their regular meetings and a record of the decision is minuted and forwarded to the relevant planning authority.
The Parish Council has no jurisdiction with respect to planning – the remit is merely to make a recommendation of support or not.
The Parish Council organise community events throughout the year including the Village Spring Clean, Hog Roast & Carols on the Green
